Margaret Lloyd

It is with deep sorrow that DSC announces the sudden death, after a short illness, of Margaret Lloyd. Margaret served as a DSC trustee from 2003 until 2011 and was our Chair from 2003 until 2007.  She was a much loved trustee with a vibrant, vital personality and a real commitment to the work of the voluntary sector. She modernised DSC’s governance structure and was responsible for building up DSC’s policy presence.

Her progressive, forward thinking approach saw DSC become braver and stronger.  She oversaw our work on the revised Charities Act and the development of our government funding and company giving website and the 2007 the inaugural Social Change Awards presented by Ed Miliband.  After she stood down as a Trustee she continued to support DSC through coaching and mentoring our CEO.  She will be sorely missed.
