Children’s Social Care Covid-19 Regional Recovery and Building Back Better Fund

The Department of Education has announced a new £24 million fund that will ‘support projects tackling the issues facing the most vulnerable children in society in 2021-22, including Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) abuse, care for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, preventing adolescents from being caught up in harms outside the home such as gangs and reducing the pressure on the system by reducing court backlogs or improving technology’. The fund will be distributed among nine regions in England split into Regional Improvement and Innovation Alliances. Each region will be awarded between £2 million and £3million to support projects that address their regional priorities. This includes ‘a flat rate of £50,000 for each region to help local authorities play their part in accommodating unaccompanied asylum-seeking children’. Find out more here.

Barclays 100×100 COVID-19 Community Relief Fund

Barclays has reopened its 100×100 programme, announcing that 50 more grants of £100,000 each will be awarded to UK charities that are working to support vulnerable people and communities impacted by COVID-19. Applicants must have an annual income of at least £1 million. Applications will close at 6pm on Friday 6 August 2021. Find out more here.

Arts Council England – Culture Recovery Fund: Emergency Resource Support

Grants of between £25,000 and £3 million are available to support organisations ‘who were financially sustainable before Covid-19 but are now at imminent risk of failure and have exhausted all other options for increasing their resilience’. Applications open tomorrow at 12pm and will close at 12pm on 14 October 2021. Applications are subject to permission to apply being granted. Permission to apply requests must be submitted by 12pm on 30 September 2021 at the latest. Find out more here.

National Lottery Community Fund – Places Called Home

A reminder that the Places Called Home fund will close to applications tomorrow at 5pm on Wednesday 14 July 2021. Please note, the fund may close earlier if the cap of 1,5000 applications is reached. Find out more here.

The Ministry of Justice’s Specialist Fund

Applications will soon be closing for The Ministry of Justice’s Specialist Fund. The fund, delivered by Comic Relief, is part of a £40 million funding boost for specialist support services to help survivors and victims of rape and domestic abuse during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Applications are invited from organisations supporting survivors/victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence, who are led ‘by/with and for’ communities facing racial inequality, disabled people or LGBTQ+ communities. Grants of between £5,000 to £70,000 are available to support costs, including hardware and software, which improve digital and remote capacity, provide continuity in support, and enhance future sustainability.
