Working with your Board - Online course

Trustees play such an important role in charities – so it’s vital that they’re equipped to do their job well.

Half-day online course

Digital book included:It’s a Battle on the Board

Working with your board can be both a pleasure and a pain. You need their support, their challenge, their ear and their voice. How well this goes, can in great part, be down to you – how you engage with them how you communicate with them and how you respond to them. This half day session will help you explore how you can be most effective in those areas.

Who should attend?

CEO’s, Executive Directors and Senior Managers who have responsibility to report to and respond to their Trustees.

Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Consider the challenges, the pleasures and the pains
  • Explore what an effective and productive Exec/Non Exec relationship can look like
  • Identify what useful and adequate information looks like
  • Look at strategies for handling difficult behaviours and situations

What will it cover?

  • Why does it matter – we run the show anyway?
  • Who does what around here and how can we manage expectations?
  • How do we share information – not just paperwork?
  • Who’s being difficult – and how can I help them not to be?
